Air Force General Plans to Retire, Help W.Va. Youth
Foglesong plans to set up foundation that will send teens to college Air Force Gen. Robert "Doc" Foglesong, long known as the highest- ranking West Virginian in the armed forces, plans to retire next year and establish a foundation aimed at sending the Mountain State's future leaders to college.
Kanawha County school officials have prepared and submitted an application for funding for two new West Side schools. But some school officials say there is little hope that the county will receive funding for the two schools.
City Not Giving Up On Deer Hunt
While Charleston leaders are still trying to appease upset residents who don't think an urban hunt is the way to deal with the city's deer problem, Wheeling is preparing for its eighth such season. Wheeling bowhunters will be permitted to bag up to two deer in this year's urban hunt, which begins Saturday.

Manchin Says Funding Secured for Renovation
WHEELING - Financing has been secured to complete renovations at the former Stone and Thomas Building in downtown Wheeling, Gov. Joe Manchin said. The $6.4 million Stone Center at Market Plaza will be funded with $3.4 million of proceeds from tax increment financing obligation bonds issued by local government officials and a $3 million loan from the West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council.

At Thomas Memorial, patients with private insurance will pay an average $10,260, up from $10,116, slightly less than the $10,597 Thomas wanted to charge.
Greyhound Announces Elimination of Service to Clarksburg, Morgantown
MORGANTOWN - Greyhound Lines Inc. is eliminating its operations in Morgantown and Clarksburg as part of a nationwide restructuring of its routes. Greyhound also plans to eliminate its operation in Cumberland, Md., said Greyhound spokeswoman Anna Folmnsbee.
