Agency to Add More Safety Barriers On I-64

Summary


HUNTINGTON - The Division of Highways plans to spend nearly $3 million this year to install cable barriers along a 14-mile stretch of Interstate 64 to keep traffic from crossing the grassy median.

The project is among 50 miles of cable barriers the state will install this summer to prevent crossover accidents on West Virginia's interstates, said Marsha Mays with the agency's traffic engineer section.
