Clacy Williams, who has overseen the release of more than $1 billion in state aid for school construction as executive director of the state School Building Authority, has announced he will retire on June 30.

The former county school superintendent has been the agency's only director since its first meeting in August 1989. The SBA was created to help West Virginia's 55 counties replace, renovate and upgrade school buildings.
