OKLAHOMA CITY - Chesapeake Energy Corp. has sold some of its natural gas assets in Kentucky and West Virginia to UBS AG and Deutsche Bank's DB Energy Trading LLC unit for $1.1 billion.

Aubrey K. McClendon, chief executive for Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake, said Wednesday the move is part of a company plan to raise an additional $2 billion through such sales this year and next.
