THE U.S. Census Bureau released its 2005 population estimates this week, and the trend for West Virginia municipalities continues to look alarming.

Only 14 of the state's municipalities have more than 10,000 people. Only two - Morgantown and Martinsburg - appear to have gained population since 2000.
