BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Co. said it cancelled 1,722 workers' compensation insurance policies on Jan. 1 for nonpayment of policy premiums.

The premiums were for the period beginning Jan. 1 and were due on Dec. 8, BrickStreet spokesman Andy Wessels said. The terms of the cancelled policies were for varying lengths of time because BrickStreet is putting staggered premium terms in place this year.
