A former Mingo County coroner will spend two and a half years in federal prison for helping a Williamson doctor duck income taxes.

U.S. District Judge Joe Goodwin handed down 42-year-old Henry W. Vinson's sentence Monday. In November, Vinson pleaded guilty to helping Armando Acosta shield about $1 million of his income from a $209,000 federal tax lien.
