SEATTLE - Carlos Ruiz scored 58 seconds into the first overtime on Tuesday night, helping send F.C. Dallas into the U.S. Open Cup finals with a 2-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders. Abe Thompson converted a penalty kick with a minute and a half left in the second overtime period to clinch the game for Dallas after Dax McCarty was taken down in the penalty area. This will be the third trip to the Open Cup finals for FC Dallas (11-8-3 in Major League Soccer).
