Getting Ready for Hokies Not Difficult for Wvu

MORGANTOWN West Virginia free safety Jahmile Addae thinks it would be hard not to get fired up for todays football clash with visiting Virginia Tech. I think the focus and preparation are that much more important. And I think everybody puts that extra hour in the weight room to get stronger, the 6-0, 205-pound senior said. Its something that you come to big-time football to do play against the great teams. Its an opportunity that youre not going to get too often, and youve got to make the most of it. Addae was medically redshirted in 2003 and did not play in WVUs stirring 28-7 upset of Tech, then as now ranked No. 3 in the nation. But he was on the sideline that night at Mountaineer Field, and he remembers how exciting that triumph was for everybody. There was electricity in the air, Addae recalled. It was unlike any game that I played in since Ive been here. Pitt has come pretty close. But, for the most part, this game brings out the best in both teams. He believes WVUs highly rated defensive unit has been so productive because of the coaching it gets and the way players execute assignments. Running to the ball the normal think any athlete can do gets you out of a lot of trouble, Addae reasoned. If you have to, you can correct any mistakes that happen, and I think we do. A lot of hustling and a lot of pursuit in our last two games against Tech helped us get those big wins. Addae has been a major contributor to the Mountaineers 4- 0 start. He ranks second among the teams tacklers with 24 and has forced a fumble.
