WASHINGTON - There were no hanging chads, but there was a bit of confusion in the balloting that led to John Boehner of Ohio being elected the new House majority leader.

There were supposed to be 230 eligible GOP voters in the room Thursday - all of the voting House Republicans except Rep. Gary Miller of California, who did not attend.
