Summary


Health care is a major contributor to the West Virginia economy.

It's a well-known and accepted fact that hospitals play a critical role in improving the health of our citizens. What is probably not as well recognized is that hospitals also contribute annually more than $5.6 billion to the state's economy. Hospitals employ over 39,000 people, and directly or indirectly, support one of every nine jobs in the state.
