Arthur Barthelmess
Arthur Barthelmess, 75, of Hurricane, W.Va., formerly of St. Albans, died suddenly April 30, 2005, at the East Cooper Medical Center, Mount Pleasant, S.C., while visiting friends.Born May 25, 1929, in Beckley, W.Va., he was a son of the late Steven and Donna Lonker Barthelmess.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley.Art was a graduate of Concord College, a member of Highlawn Presbyterian Church, St. Albans, Sleepy Hollow Golf Club, and was a member of Washington Masonic Lodge No. 58, AF & AM, St. Albans. He was a retired chemist from Union Carbide Corporation, Institute, W.Va., and a retired registrar with the West Virginia Division of Vital Statistics. He also served as a former Kanawha County Magistrate. Art served his country during the Korean Era, with the United States Army.Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Tammy Barthelmess of St. Albans, Steve and Diane Williamson Barthelmess, and Brett and Angie Barthelmess, all of Hurricane, W.Va.; his daughter, Beverly Taylor and her husband, Tim, of Cryst...See the full content of this document
