HUNTINGTON - With blue skies stretching as far as the eye can see, West Virginia welcomed 5,000 soccer players and coaches to the state Thursday afternoon at the opening ceremonies for the United States Youth Soccer Region I Championships at Marshall University's Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
