Former Tennis Star Kellmeyer Elected to Hall of Fame Class

NEWPORT, R.I. - Fern Lee "Peachy" Kellmeyer, a Wheeling native and former Charleston resident who was the very first employee and director of the Women's Tennis Association in 1973, has been elected for induction to the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

Kellmeyer, 66, is the sole 2011 Hall inductee in the Contributor Category. She joins Recent Player inductee Andre Agassi, whose induction was announced last week. Kellmeyer and Agassi complete the International Tennis Hall of Fame Class of 2011, to be inducted here July 9.
