Unemployment increased in nearly every West Virginia county in January, but those areas where joblessness was worst dropped slightly, the state Bureau of Employment Programs said.
Calhoun County led the state in double-digit unemployment with 15.3 percent, followed by McDowell at 12.8 percent; Wirt, 12.6 percent; Mason, 11.6 percent; Grant and Roane, 11.3 percent each; Barbour, 10.5 percent; Wetzel, 10.4 percent; Greenbrier, 10.2 percent; Summers, 9.7 percent; and Pleasants, 9.2 percent, the bureau reported Wednesday.See the full content of this document
