The pending 300-acre state-operated veterans cemetery in Kanawha County should cost $270,000 annually to maintain, though coming up with the necessary funding shouldn't pose a problem.
State lawmakers this week passed a bill that would establish a veterans cemetery fund to help finance the annual upkeep of the burial site, just off the Institute exit of Interstate 64. Last fall, Dow Chemical donated the land, which is part of a 1,000-acre tract the company owns there.See the full content of this document
