WIND farms may eventually provide a small part of the solution to the nation's energy puzzle, but West Virginia policymakers would do well to answer the questions Rep. Alan Mollohan raises about the costs and benefits of that industry.

As the Gazette's Paul Nyden reported, wind energy represented little more than a tenth of 1 percent of all the energy consumed in the United States in 2003. That isn't expected to change much.
