Right Now, Wvu Can't Afford Neutral Site Games in Football

MORGANTOWN - West Virginia's designs to sustain the strength of its nonconference football schedule won't involve neutral-site games against opponents from Bowl Championship Series leagues in the immediate future, WVU Deputy Director of Athletics Mike Parsons said Thursday.

Atlanta Sports Council President Gary Stoken said his group has contacted Big East schools WVU, Louisville and South Florida this season to measure interest in playing an Atlantic Coast Conference or Southeastern Conference team in the Georgia Dome, perhaps as soon as 2009. Parsons said WVU is not in a position to entertain such offers from the ASC or anyone else.
