ANAHEIM, Calif. - West Virginia might not have gotten the opponents it expected at the 76 Classic, but the Mountaineers did what they intended to do and won the tournament championship.

Da'Sean Butler had 26 points and six rebounds and was named the tournament's most outstanding player as the nation's eighth-ranked team won for the third time in four days by toppling upstart Portland, 84-66, in Sunday night's title game at the Anaheim Convention Center.
